Doi Kham Fa is located within the Mae Ngai Watershed Management Unit, part of Pha Daeng National Park in Chiang Mai Province. The site serves as a viewpoint for Doi Luang Chiang Dao and offers camping space for visitors. The area is suitable for observing sunrise, morning fog, and sunset in a quiet and peaceful setting. Tiger orchids bloom here during January. Access is limited to 50 visitors per day with advance reservations required, as walk-in visitors are not accepted. The route consists of an 8-kilometer dirt road through pine forest, accessible by four-wheel drive vehicles or high-clearance pickup trucks when the road is completely dry. Access is strictly prohibited during the rainy season. Smaller vehicles must remain at the checkpoint, with rental transport services available for 1,200 to 1,500 baht for a round trip. Vehicle access is restricted to 20 cars and 10 motorcycles per day. Facilities include restrooms and electricity. No food is sold on site, so visitors must bring their own supplies. The camping fee is 30 baht per person, and equipment rental is available.
