Mae Tiea Waterfall Camping Area is located within Ob Luang National Park in Chiang Mai province. The camping ground sits directly in front of the waterfall, allowing visitors to fall asleep to the sound of flowing water throughout the night. Temperatures drop to 18-19 degrees Celsius after dark, and wildlife sightings are possible in the area. The site has no electricity, mobile signal, or internet access. At night, the darkness is so complete that only stars are visible overhead. Restrooms are positioned uphill from the camping area, requiring a walk of some distance, and have no lighting so a flashlight is necessary. Visitors can charge electronic devices at the checkpoint located 7-8 kilometers back down the mountain road. The on-site food shop closes at 9 PM and accepts cash only. The access road is narrow with steep inclines and numerous curves, though passable for small vehicles. It is advisable to purchase supplies at Chom Thong district before ascending to the park. The overnight camping fee is 30 baht per person, with tent rentals available for 250 baht and individual sleeping equipment items for 30 baht each.
