Pong Jor Reservoir Campsite is located in Mae Wang National Park, Chiang Mai. The campsite sits beside the reservoir and offers beautiful views, especially during sunset. The camping fee is 30 THB per person, the national park entrance fee is 20 THB per person, and the vehicle fee is 30 THB. The park limits overnight visitors to no more than 50 people per day, helping keep the campsite peaceful and uncrowded with plenty of space between tents. Campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so visitors can choose their preferred spot and view depending on availability. The park staff are friendly and helpful, while both the camping area and restrooms are kept clean. Temperatures at night can drop to around 15°C, so bringing enough blankets or warm clothing is recommended. The parking area is located some distance from the campsite. Visitors are advised to bring a cart for carrying camping gear, although carts may also be available to borrow from park staff. Tent rentals are available for visitors who do not bring their own tents. The area is also suitable for daytime picnics under the shade of large trees, making it a good option even for visitors who do not plan to stay overnight. Pong Jor Reservoir in Mae Wang National Park is usually open during the winter season, approximately from December 1 until the end of February each year. It is generally closed from around March 1 to November 30 during the dry season or for annual maintenance. Visitors are advised to check the latest announcement from the national park before traveling, as opening and closing dates may vary from year to year.
