I love this place. It’s quite clean, and the standard is high. They have care takers that take care of the environment very well. It feels like you’re in a different world, in the best way possible. The best place to reset mentally and get away from the hustle and bustle of life. Cons - the staff is only reachable at a certain time and the food is mid and quite pricey for what you get but I will not criticize the price too heavily because it takes money to care for such a place at such a high degree so I understand. Go, you will not regret it. Remember you’re not at a 5 star hotel, you’re at camping. It’s meant to have a feel of ‘survival’ so you can’t expect to be catered for 24/7.
A bit disappointed. The staff barely care, there is rubbish down the trail, which shows that they don’t care much about keeping the forest clean and just focus on accommodation, instead the cleaners are just cleaning the same spot over and over. There are no walking trails so it’s just a place to sleep. We stayed in a block of rooms, wanting to enjoy the silence and quietness of the pine forest and instead there was an annoying sound of what felt like a boiler or something in the building so had to sleep with ear plugs. So much for staying in what’s meant to be where you enjoy the calmness of nature. The picture of the breakfast was not indicative of the real thing and it’s expensive for what you get (food is very basic). Overall, only stay here if you absolutely have to, skip food and carry on.
The caravan was a very cool experience. It was transported from Lancashire UK like myself. The weather was very rainy and misty yet this adds to the atmosphere and photo taking opportunities when on walks. Take an umbrella though. The restaurant is not very good value though, yet there are options around the area such as Manmok Cafe. This is a very complicated place to book. They simply will not book for Farangs due to communication problems, you will need someone Thai in your company for sure to go here. I had a great time here though with the Mrs, despite it pouring it down almost non-stop.
If you are looking for a nice quiet remote place from the city, this would be it. The drive takes about 1.5-2hrs from chiang mai city. The view is nice, the food is ok. You can order it to your room, the staff seem a bit agitated. Nice place for a photoshoot and to enjoy the pine trees, different types of rooms are available but pretty difficult to book. I recommend bringing your own towels and also the beds are pretty stiff.
The pine forest is beautiful and weather here is comfortable around this time. The air is sweet and fresh inside the property. We love everything about nature here but the stay could have been maintained much better with the price they’re charging. The picture of the rooms we posted are from one of the two-story modern looking house. The toilet needs redoing, there’s mold on the wall and ceiling as well as on the ceiling of the bedroom upstairs. If you’re very particular about musty smell, please be prepared when you’re planning to stay in a cabin like this. We also stayed in one of the twin houses, it also smells musty and there’s also mold on the bathroom walls and ceiling because there’s no working window to allow moisture out. But we like this house better because it’s more cozy unlike the bigger space in the 2-story house. There’s one big reclined chair provided for the double floor wooden house, a set of working table and 2 small chairs for the living room downstairs which isn’t so comfortable to sit in and read. The choice of furniture provided could have been better if keeping in mind how people would spend time here. The beddings although have strong fabric softener smell, they don’t smell fresh but rather musty like they haven’t been dried properly. The old man at the reception office is very kind and friendly. But staff at the kitchen is quite strict and not so friendly. Food provided at the restaurant here are ok, not great and overpriced. So we decided to venture out and try other small restaurants by the road side instead and we were not disappointed. 😊 Mostly they’ll have one dish meal like stir fried chicken/pork basil with rice, stir fried flat noodle with dark soy sauce, or noodle soup, etc. Overall, people come to stay here to enjoy the forest, its amazing smell and to have some quiet time to relax. Don’t have high expectation for the stay though. They also have a camp ground on the other side of the property which we feel it’s a better option for stay for our next time visiting here. They don’t charge much if you bring your own tent.
