Doi Nong Sa is a little-known campsite in Chiang Mai province offering sunrise and sunset views from a cliff edge at Ban Mae Long Noi, Omkoi district. Sitting at roughly 1,580 meters above sea level, it takes about 2 hours to drive from Omkoi town, and the route is rough dirt track, very slippery in the rainy season, requiring a 4WD vehicle in low gear four-wheel drive; sedans are not recommended. The pitch area has a flush toilet with a large water tank for water supply, and phone signal is available along the way. About 90% of the ground is sloped, so bringing wheel chocks is recommended for a more comfortable, level sleep. From the campsite, a walking trail of about 1.5 kilometers leads up to the Doi No Trat chedi, the highest point of the mountain at 1,760 meters, and there's a friendly hill tribe village further up. This is a popular spot for camping in Chiang Mai for those seeking mountain-top views away from crowds.
