Visited in January 2025. Rode my adventure bike up and took a fall on the steep climb 3/4 way up and was getting dark. Not an early route for heavy bikes. Was lucky that there were locals descending and help me pick the bike up as it was impossible after a long ride and was tired moreover it a sloppy area. By the time I reach the parking lot it was already dark and no one was around. Luckily I came prepared with all my camping gears. Had to find my way in the dark and it was a 800 meters hike on a very steep climb. Half way there was a opening with a shade but no one was around. Was wondering if I should camp here or continue the climb. It was a great challenge and decided to continue up. It was a relief when I saw some lights at the top of the hill and there I was. Ask the campers if I could set my tent at any point and they said anywhere is ok. They even invited me to join them for dinner. That's the hospitality of the Thais. But I had my dinner packed. The wind was so strong that sounds like waves beating the shore. I had to secure my tent with extra ropes. Was very cold so do come with blanket or thick clothes. Work up early in the morning to watch the sunrise which was beautiful but no sea clouds as the wind was too strong and it's dry season. The next morning I hired a porter to help me bring my gears down and lucky for me the locals who are going down on a pickup waited for me to follow them down in case I should drop my bike again. It was worth all the hard work and such an adventure especially when one is traveling solo. You could hire a pick up from the foot of the hill which will cost 1000 baht one way if I'm not wrong. One can drive their own vehicle up but can be steep an uneven gravel road.
An awesome place to visit with great views over the mountains and valley’s surrounding. Entry fee is only 20 THB per person. The last section is walking and takes about 30 to 40 minutes and is up hill all the way. The parking area can be a little tricky to get to, you have 2 options: 1, The Quickest route involves 40 minutes on a dirt track with some concrete sections, it’s not difficult, you do not need a 4 wheel drive and we saw many normal saloons doing this trip, but some areas are very rough and you do need to be very careful. 2, There is a route which is shorter but very rough and challenging, for this you do definitely need a 4 wheel drive and need to be confident in your abilities, the track is very narrow and washed out in places. We did it in a Ranger and it took us 3 hours.
Nice place to explore, from 180m to 1150m, 25 degrees Celsius to 20°C. Pass by villages, trees, and beautiful view. 4 wheel car is able to reach the top. Very exciting and adventurous trip, good driving skill needed. Highly recommended 🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭👍👍👍
Beautiful view and hike. The summit is quite dirty but it's still beautiful. Super easy hike only less than one kilometer. The road up is quite rough definitely need a four wheel drive.
If you ride a motorbike, you will have a wonderful time riding to the mountain. About 60% of the way is paved, the rest is dirt/gravel. Nice curves going up and up. I went during the rainy season, so I got stuck at the bottom of the hike for 2 hours. The hike takes about 30 minutes and is very steep and slippery. Unfortunately, the summit was in a constant big cloud so I couldn't enjoy the view. Simply for the bike ride I give 4 stars. Also, despite the rain, the dirt/gravel road held well and no problems at all on the way back.
