Extremely beautiful experience. Nice track of almost 4 km with simple/moderate difficulty. We were the only guests possibly because it’s a bit far away from Chiang Mai but definitely worth it if you are looking for a quit place. Combine with caves nearby and as nature lover your day will be perfect. People at park and cafe very friendly. Thank you
I visited **Khun Khan National Park** on **11 January 2026**, and it turned out to be a wonderfully peaceful escape from Chiang Mai. The park is located just over an hour’s scooter ride from the city, making it an easy and rewarding day trip. The journey itself is pleasant, and upon arrival, the calm atmosphere immediately sets this national park apart from busier destinations in Northern Thailand. Unlike many national parks that emphasize dramatic mountain views, Khun Khan National Park offers a more subtle yet deeply soothing experience. The park is defined by its serenity and relaxed environment, making it ideal for visitors seeking quiet time in nature. The absence of crowds allows you to truly slow down, listen to the sounds of the forest, and appreciate the natural rhythms around you. One of the park’s most impressive features is its **diverse forest ecosystems**. Within a relatively compact area, the park protects riverine ecosystems, mixed deciduous forest, and semi-evergreen forest. Streams and small rivers wind through parts of the protected area, adding to the lush scenery and cooling atmosphere. Bamboo groves, tall trees, and dense vegetation create a rich and layered landscape that feels both vibrant and untouched. We completed a **nature trail of nearly 3 km**, clearly marked with **14 sign-post stations** along the route. The trail follows sections of the river and passes through different forest types, offering constant variation in scenery. It took us just over an hour to finish at a relaxed pace, and the trail was easy to follow, informative, and enjoyable without being physically demanding. Overall, Khun Khan National Park is definitely worth visiting if you want to admire nature, unwind, and escape the bustle of city life. It may not have dramatic peaks, but its tranquility, ecological diversity, and well-designed nature trail make it a hidden gem near Chiang Mai. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a calm, refreshing, and meaningful connection with Northern Thailand’s natural environment.
Only 20 Baht! Not much at this visitor center other than a nature trail by the river. The main attraction of this park is the Mae sot cave. A lot of the park is farmland and is people’s houses
Nice place The entrance is only 100 thb There is meant to be warm spring It's not really hot fairly warm The river is beautiful The trail is disappointing Walking along the river , not much to see , not much progress, back and forth Nice signs Was good to camp there one night Even though it is so close to the road You don't really hear it
Quiet and unknown by foreigners. Warm water from local hot springs is available all year round. Camping equipments are available for rent at a cheap price. Small river or stream is shallow and safe, so kids can enjoy. Trekking path is 4.3 km long. Highly recommend for families.
