Lan Krasip Chan

Phetchabun
4.8(5 reviews)

Lan Krasip Chan is a campsite in Phetchabun's Khao Kho National Park known for its morning sea of fog and mountain sunset views, offering a quiet, cool atmosphere with fog drifting through the campsite periodically. Entry costs 20 baht per person, 30 baht per car, and 30 baht per tent for camping. There is no electricity hookup available, though True network signal works reasonably well. New, clean restrooms are available on site. Sedans can make it up the road as long as it isn't raining. Visitors are advised to contact the Khao Kho National Park office before heading up to the campsite. It's a good spot for stargazing at night and enjoying nature close up, popular among those who love peaceful mountain camping in Phetchabun.

Racist/discriminatory pricing at the ticket checkpoint at the bottom of the hill. You have to buy the actual tickets at the Khao Kho National Park HQ a few km back. Apart from that this place is great. It's about 7-8km to walk (I walked through the forest and then hiked all the way to avoid the checkpoint). Most people will drive up. There are lots of eagles in the trees. At the top there's a viewpoint and then the campground is another 500m. When I went on a Friday there was only 1 car that came past me, it's very quiet. Also in the same area check out Khao Yaa Viewpoint which is near the ticket checkpoint but you don't have to pass through it, so nothing to pay.

Great campground, rather isolated though, so bring your own food. Toilet and shower are clean.
