Pha Chor Tourist Center is the main access point for visiting Pha Chor inside Mae Wang National Park, often nicknamed Chiang Mai’s “mini Grand Canyon.” The cliffs are around 30 meters high and were formed over a very long time by natural erosion after the Ping River changed course, creating dramatic earth pillars and canyon-like walls. From the visitor center you follow a short nature trail (with some stairs/steeper sections) to reach the formations—an easy, scenic walk for most people, but wear proper shoes because the ground can be dusty or slippery after rain. It’s a great stop for photos and a quick nature break, especially if you want something different from temples and cafés while staying near Chiang Mai.
A must visit in my opinion. The rock formations are very unique. What intrigued me here was especially pebbles being embedded within the soil. The park was well kept and clean, and there's a coffee station which sells reasonable price beverages. Don't miss this spot when you in ChiangMai.
Walking on a dry river bed and seeing the grand canyon were very enjoyable. There are several information boards along the way that you can study regarding the natural phenomenon. The national park is well cared for, the road leading to it is easy and wide. There is a camping ground by the lake too that you can visit after seeing Phacor.
This national park took my breathe away. A manicured natural landscape. It is so unique in Thailand. The way this is set up is like a western world tourist natural attraction. The walk is only a short one. Bonus there is a nice cafe at the start of the walk and a camp site on the way here. It is just over an hour ride out of town.
Very good place to visit when in Chiang Mai. Went there on a public holiday at 12h, not crowded at all. Very nice place for picture , the walk inside is not that hard but better wear appropriate shoes. Bring cash to pay the entrance fee as they don't take cards or QR code pay. There is only a coffee shop inside where you can get drink and snacks. The walk to inside is just 400m up and down and there are resting place along the way if you are tired
