Rai Ong Jung Yu Camping Area Yod Khao Thewada sits atop a mountain in Suphan Buri province, offering camping grounds surrounded by green hills. Visitors can observe morning mist from their tents and enjoy clear starry skies at night. The staff provides attentive care and offers kitchen supplies, vegetables, and chilies for borrowing. Campers may also pick fresh produce from the garden for cooking. A convenience store and made-to-order food restaurant are available on site. Tapeinkii Noi Waterfall is accessible via a 200-meter walk down from the camping area. The access road winds through the terrain but maintains good traction. Parking is available on the grounds. A viewpoint near the summit provides views of the surrounding landscape and sunrise. Mobile phone coverage is limited to AIS network only, with no signal from other carriers. The site charges 100 baht per person per night and does not offer equipment rental.

Notes from our team

What makes it special
The campsite sits on top of Khao Thevada in Suphan Buri, with layered mountain ridges stretching across central Thailand. A cool breeze blows through the site all day, and at times mist drifts right into the grounds. With no electric light nearby, the night sky fills with stars, and there is a sunrise viewpoint over the peaks. Note that there is no phone signal except AIS and no electricity in the grounds, so bring a torch and a power bank.
Water & swimming
Beside the grounds is Namtok Tha Phen Khi Noi, reached by a short walking trail directly from the site. The waterfall is good for both sitting by and playing in the cool water, a nice break during the warmer afternoon hours, and children especially enjoy it. Most campers plan a morning or afternoon walk to the falls and return to the grounds before evening to wait for the night sky.
Best time to go
The weather up here stays pleasant almost year-round: around 26-27°C in the day and dropping to 18-22°C at night, so pack a warm layer for sleeping. In the cool season temperatures fall even lower, while in the rainy season the mountain greenery is at its best. That said, check the forecast before setting out, as the access road climbs uphill and rain can make it slippery and obscure the views.
