Phayao is a small province that campers know for Phu Langka — the range beside Route 1148 where Pha Chang Noi rises out of a sea of mist. We list six grounds: half are in that zone, the rest around Mae Chai and near the city.
What sets it apart from other hill provinces is comfort: all six grounds have toilets, showers and electricity. Most charge ฿100–150 per person per night, and half accept pets.

Phu Langka, in Pong district, is a string of camps and homestays beside the road, all facing Pha Chang Noi; some are walk-in, with your pick of pitches. In Mae Chai district, Mae Puem National Park has a reservoir-side ground with kayaking and round-the-clock staff, and there is a homestay among the tea forest at Pang Pu Lo. Near Phayao city, a creekside camp looks towards Doi Luang.
Phu Langka's mist is a possibility from late rains through winter, roughly October to February — a cold morning after rain is the best bet. Winter skies are clear for stargazing. The rains are green and quiet, and some camps run promotions then. The hot season brings the haze common to the upper north.
Route 1148 is a fine drive but full of bends: allow time and avoid it after dark. Most Phu Langka camps are small village plots with room for few tents, so arrive early on winter holidays. Only one of the six grounds has a restaurant — bring food to cook — and about a third rent gear.
