Phitsanulok has two camping worlds. One is Phu Hin Rong Kla, a cold summit where temperatures drop into single digits; the other is Noen Maprang, villages ringed by limestone peaks where private camps keep opening.
Fees start at ฿30 per person in the national parks; most private camps charge ฿120–200 per person per night. All have toilets, but only six in ten have showers and four in ten have electricity.

Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park has a ground near Lan Hin Pum, and there are private camps at Ban Rong Kla, the village where wild Himalayan cherry turns the whole valley pink. Noen Maprang has camps at Ban Mung and Ban Rak Thai, with upright limestone peaks and sunrise behind them. Along Highway 12 on the Wang Thong side are Kaeng Sopha waterfall in Thung Salaeng Luang National Park and a hillside farm that takes tents; Kwae Noi National Park is another easy-access option.
December to February belongs to Phu Hin Rong Kla: properly cold, and the cherry blossom usually comes from mid-January to early February — it shifts every year, so check first. In the rains Kaeng Sopha runs full and Noen Maprang's limestone is vivid green, good for avoiding crowds. Even in the hot season the mountain grounds are clearly cooler than the plain.
The road up Phu Hin Rong Kla is steep: check your brakes and do not climb after dark. In blossom season the mountain jams and grounds fill fast, so book ahead. Most grounds in the province have no restaurant — bring food to cook — and only about one in five rents tents, so ask first if you have no gear.
