Notes from our team

What makes it special
Lan Hin Pum is an open lookout high above the rest of the national park, with wide views in every direction and no railings blocking the horizon. The round, bumpy rock formations themselves have no clear geological explanation—signs on site only cite physical and chemical erosion—making this an unusual landform you rarely see elsewhere in Thailand.
Atmosphere
The loop alternates between shaded forest and exposed sunny stretches, so bring a hat and plenty of water. There are at least a dozen good photo spots spread along the way. On busy days, turn left at the first junction and walk the loop clockwise—you'll have the trail mostly to yourself early on, and both directions meet back at the same point.
Getting there
The walk from the parking area up to the rock terrace is about 1.65 kilometers, and the loop around it runs roughly 3 km—allow about 2 hours including photo stops. Signage is sparse; without a local guide the loop can take 2-4 hours to figure out. Free parking and restrooms are available at the trailhead.
Best time to go
Temperatures at Phu Hin Rong Kla stay around 18-25 degrees Celsius all year, so hiking and photography are possible in almost any season. Mist drifts across the rock terrace in the early morning and again around dusk—arrive before sunrise and stay into the evening if you want shots of fog wrapping the mountains.

Very well maintained loop trail, total about 3km. Allow 2 hours for the walk and for taking photos. There are at least a dozen key photo opportunities along the way. Some shade, some sun, so be prepared. Tip for hiking on a day when the park is crowded: when you get to the first junction, most people turn right and walk the loop counter-clockwise. If you turn left and walk clockwise, you will have more time alone on the trail.

Really special place actually, lots of dizzying lookouts over the rest of the national park far below, and with no guard rails at all. Love it. You can do the loop plus the extra walk to the air raid shelter in about 1.5hours. The way to the shelter was really nice and green when we went there. As for the main attraction of the bumps, still unsure how they would form geologically, and the official explanation on the signs "physical and chemical erosion" is a bit inadequate.

Very beautiful historical place. A little bit adventure of hiking and walking around to make you forgot many thing. I suggest to hiring the guide due to this place does not have much sign to say which way you have to go. If you didn't have guide you might spend 2-4 hours. I hiring the guide to show us the way, it is really convenience. The fee for the guide is up to you :)
