Saraburi is one of the closest camping provinces to Bangkok — most pitches are within a ninety-minute to two-hour drive. Its strength is running water: streams off the western Khao Yai range feed a long list of creekside lawns where you can be in the water all day, which has made it the go-to for short-notice weekend and family trips.
Most pitches run about ฿100–300 per person per night. Nearly all are private grounds with toilets and shops nearby — more convenient than the mountain provinces, in exchange for a less wild setting.

The densest stretch runs from Kaeng Khoi through Muak Lek, along the foothill creeks and falls around Chet Sao Noi and Sap Sanun — the classic Saraburi picture of tents under trees beside running water. Wang Muang to the north sits on the Pa Sak Jolasid reservoir: more open lawns, wide water views, and noticeably fewer people.
Saraburi works nearly year-round. Winter is simply pleasant; in the hot season the creekside pitches earn their keep because you can stay in the water; in the rains the falls are at their best but choose grounds clear of flood lines and check with the camp after heavy rain.
Being this close to Bangkok, the popular grounds fill fast on Saturdays and long weekends — book ahead or arrive before noon. The upside is supply: Muak Lek market and roadside shops cover almost anything you forgot.
Mostly ฿100–300 per person per night, and many grounds rent tents and gear on top.
About 1.5–2 hours to the Kaeng Khoi–Muak Lek zone, and roughly 2.5 hours to Wang Muang.
Especially good: most creekside grounds have shallow water, toilets, and drive-in access. Keep children close when the current picks up after rain.
