Rai Fon Thiam

Saraburi
5.0(5 reviews)

Rai Fon Thiam earns its nickname "Doi Mae Tho of Saraburi" with sweeping 360-degree views of rolling grasslands and layered mountains that feel more like northern Thailand than central. Camping in Saraburi has rarely been this accessible — the site is just a 2–3 hour drive from Bangkok in Mueang Mok Klek district. The fee is 100 THB per person per night, with children under 10 entering free; full tent rental sets are available for 350 THB. No advance booking is required and the site accepts walk-ins daily. The access road is a steep, rocky dirt track suitable only for pickup trucks, 4×4s, or adventure motorcycles — sedan drivers can park at the base and take the campsite's shuttle for 50 THB per person. Mobile signal is weak to non-existent at the summit and there is no electrical hookup, so a power bank is strongly recommended. The site is pet-friendly, and morning mist or rainy-season sea of clouds drifts through on many mornings.

Notes from our team

Atmosphere
The campsite sits at the same elevation as Khao Yai Thiang, so the air is cool and the wind blows hard all day, especially after 2 am when gusts get genuinely strong. Flimsy tarp poles can snap in these conditions — peg deep, and guy out the tent structure thoroughly.
Getting there
The access road is a dirt climb with fun twists and steep sections — any car or pickup can make it up, but big bikes are not recommended. It's a short run from Bangkok, well suited to an overnight escape, and parking is available at the campsite.
Best time to go
Late rainy season around October brings clear skies, long open views, and a distinct sunrise over the ridge — but plan for strong night winds. During the wetter months the dirt access road can get slippery and the views close in, so stretches of heavy continuous rain are best avoided.

Rai Lam Phu Thong Farm & Camp

Rai Lam Phu Thong Farm & Camp

Saraburi

Rai Lam Phu Thong Farm & Camp in Saraburi delivers unobstructed 360-degree views of cliffs and layered mountain ridges from a wide grass lawn set within a working cattle farm. At 100 THB per person per night, it is one of the most affordable camping in Saraburi options within two hours of Bangkok (approximately 140 km). The access road has a short gravel section but is manageable by all sedan and passenger cars. AIS and True mobile networks have no reliable signal here, making it a true digital-detox destination. Late rainy season brings light morning mist, while year-end sees the lawn covered in yellow Cassia blossoms. Facilities include electrical outlets across the site (portable AC use incurs an extra ~100 THB charge), clean shower-equipped bathrooms stocked with soap, shampoo and conditioner, and a dishwashing zone. Both ground tents and rooftop tents are welcome. Advance booking is mandatory — walk-ins are not accepted. The nearest convenience stores (7-Eleven and Big C Mini) are about 8–9 km away, so bring provisions.
