Camping in Kamphaeng Phet means, almost entirely, Khlong Lan district. Nearly every ground sits on a stream or rapid flowing out of the western forest: of the 13 listed here, nine have swimming and seven are close to a waterfall.
Fees are low and sit in a narrow band: about ฿30 per person in the national parks, ฿100–150 per person per night at the private streamside camps. All have toilets, and about seven in ten have a restaurant on site.

Khlong Lan National Park has several pitching areas: one near Khlong Lan waterfall, Lan Ban Suea on the stream by the registration point, and the Khlong Nam Lai waterfall ground, where the water is audible all night. Next door is Khlong Wang Chao National Park with Tao Dam waterfall. Private camps cluster in Pong Nam Ron sub-district, strung along the rapids — some set in durian orchards, with restaurants and rooms. They are more convenient than the park grounds, and busier on holidays.
Everything here follows the water. Late rains into early winter, roughly September to December, is when the falls look best and the air starts to cool. In mid-monsoon the water is strong and muddy, and the parks may close swimming at times. In the dry season the falls thin out, though many rapids at the private camps remain swimmable, and the forest stays much cooler than town.
Khlong Lan is about an hour from Kamphaeng Phet town, so stock up before heading in. Park grounds have limited power — fewer than four grounds in ten across the province offer electricity. The rapids suit families with children, but keep a close watch when the water is high. About half the grounds rent tents.
