Buriram has no ridges or seas of mist; camping here is orchard and rice-field camping. We list three grounds: a farm under big trees, a garden home beside a pond, and an open pitch in the paddies not far from the city.

The shaded farm feels close to a national park ground and suits the hot season, when you want cover. The garden home by the pond is family-style, as simple as visiting relatives, with fishing and a campfire. The paddy-field pitch is open ground with a wide sky and sunset over the rice, close to the city. All three also work as places to stay for visitors coming for Phanom Rung or a sporting event in town.
The paddy-field ground is at its best from the rains until harvest, roughly July to November, as the rice turns from green to gold. Winter is cool and dry, the most comfortable time to sleep out. The hot season is very hot — choose the ground with big trees.
With showers at only one ground, ask about washing facilities before you book. When a major sporting event is on in the city, everything in the province fills quickly, campgrounds included, so reserve ahead. Only one ground has a restaurant, but all are close to villages where supplies are easy to find.
