What makes it special

The pitch faces due west over a bend in the Ratthanai reservoir. In the late afternoon the sun drops right onto the water — you can sit at your tent and watch the light travel along the small coves until dusk, without going anywhere far from the field.

Atmosphere

The site is a wide, level grass field with the Khao Kho ridgeline as a backdrop and open views toward the reservoir in front. Spots are limited and reservation-only, so an ordinary night carries nothing but wind and crickets in the grass — good for sleeping in and waking to mist and first light on the water.

Water & swimming

Ratthanai reservoir sits within sight of the field, its water bending in coves between green hills. In daytime the sun turns the surface pale blue, and small fishing boats head out from time to time. The reservoir serves the local Khao Kho communities here, so the scene feels genuinely rural rather than staged.
