Atmosphere

The lawn stretches along the Lam Taphen reservoir. The inner zone sits under mango trees that give shade nearly all day, while the front zone is open and sunny. The view over the water and hills is wide open, and at night the temperature drops enough that warm clothing is a must.

Water & swimming

The reservoir is the heart of this place. Fishing is productive, and a rocky flat by the water offers another spot to pitch a tent. Kayaks are available for paddling around the bay, and the calm water in the late afternoon is a highlight.

Best time to go

The cool season is when this place is at its best, with wind blowing across the water all day and nights cold enough to need a thick blanket. In the hot months, choose the inner zone under the mango trees and bring a fan or rent air conditioning from the camp, as the front zone gets full sun.
