Notes from our team

Atmosphere
The defining scenery here is limestone karsts rising straight out of emerald-green water. Passing them by long-tail boat or kayak really shows their scale, and the surrounding area holds mangrove forests plus sea caves tucked along the islands. Because visitors spread out in small boat groups, some corners feel almost empty of other people.
Facilities
The park has toilets, and boats for touring the bay and kayaks are available to hire. Many visitors opt for private charters where the itinerary can be tailored, with a stop at Ko Panyi, the Muslim floating village, for lunch and a look at the local community's way of life.
Water & swimming
Getting out on the water is the main draw at Phang Nga Bay: long-tail boat rides among the karst islands, kayaking into sea caves and hidden lagoons, and swimming stops at small beaches that a private boat can reach away from the crowds. Along the way there are birds, monkeys, and marine life to spot.

We had an unforgettable experience exploring Ao Phang Nga National Park with a private boat tour organized by Natthaya Tours. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Thailand. The tour was completely tailored to our preferences. We mentioned that we preferred to avoid the crowds, and Natthaya took us to a quiet, secluded beach where we could enjoy a peaceful swim almost entirely by ourselves. Throughout the trip, cold drinks were provided, which was a welcome touch in the tropical heat. We explored beautiful caves, cruised through the breathtaking limestone landscapes of Phang Nga Bay, and stopped at a floating village where we enjoyed a delicious lunch. What truly made the experience exceptional was Natthaya herself. Nothing was ever too much to ask, and she went above and beyond to ensure we had the perfect day. On top of being an outstanding guide, she was also an amazing personal photographer, capturing beautiful moments for us throughout the trip. If you’re visiting Ao Phang Nga National Park, we highly recommend booking a private tour with Natthaya Tours. The personalized service, flexibility, and genuine hospitality made it an experience we’ll never forget.

It’s very quiet and peaceful, and entry is free. When we visited, there was no one around at all. The air inside wasn’t hot thanks to the mangrove trees and other greenery. However, some parts of the wooden walkway and bridge didn’t seem finished yet, as several areas were still under renovation.

This well-equipped camping ground features comprehensive facilities including four restrooms (two for men, two for women) with flush toilets and showers. The site operates on an eco-friendly power system combining solar cells and generators, with generator power used from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM for lighting pathways and riverside areas, while solar power operates from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Each tent site receives one light bulb, and guests can charge phones and use fans during solar hours. Additional amenities include a dishwashing sink with grease trap and phone signal coverage from all networks, though reception may be weak. The nearest 7-Eleven is 10 kilometers away, so guests should prepare supplies beforehand. Camp rules ensure a harmonious environment: no noise after 10:00 PM, no high-power electrical appliances, no pets allowed, and washing dishes in the stream is prohibited to maintain cleanliness.
