The site is a small private ground run by the Ban Ampuil community (Ban Kham–Pen Suk), a Thai-Khmer village known for its traditional way of life. Entry fees are 100 THB per night, 20–50 THB per child, and 100 THB per tent pitch. Facilities include clean toilets, electricity, and a rubbish-disposal point; self-catering is permitted. The waterside setting means cool breezes in the evening, and visitors have noted the site can get quite cold at night. Atmosphere: The tent ground stretches along the edge of Lawn Tap Pi reservoir, and the combination of open water and countryside around Am Pue makes the morning and evening light fall beautifully across the yard. The viewpoint by the water is the busiest spot for sunset photos. After dark, most of what you hear is wind and the sounds of the water — sitting out by the tent in the cool evening breeze gives you the genuinely rural side of Surin.
Water & swimming: Lawn Tap Pi is a large natural reservoir that stores water for the dry season. The water is home to plenty of silver barb, Nile tilapia and climbing perch, and waterbirds are a common sight on the surface. The tent ground sits right on the edge of the pond, opening up wide views across the water, and the breeze through the afternoon and evening keeps things cool enough to sit outside your tent all day.
