Chulabhorn Dam is located in Chaiyaphum Province, offering a quiet camping spot surrounded by abundant nature. This forested area serves as an important freshwater fish breeding ground for the northeastern region. The area features a wildlife reintroduction program with barking deer, deer, mouse deer, monkeys, silver pheasants, and elephants. Campers may encounter wild deer and jungle fowl that visit the area. The dam functions as a multipurpose hydroelectric facility that generates electricity, provides irrigation water during dry seasons, and creates local employment. There is a tent camping area and access to the waterfront where local villagers regularly fish. Accommodation includes rental houses by the dam. Nights are cool to cold with strong winds, and visitors can listen to the sounds of jungle fowl and other wildlife. The facility is managed by the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, which continuously develops the surrounding area to maintain ecological balance while promoting sustainable community living alongside nature.
