Notes from our team

Who it suits
The tent ground is small and narrow, suited to families with kids, since the waterfall is shallow with a gentle flow and children can play in the water. Bring mosquito repellent, though, as mosquitoes are quite numerous here.
Facilities
Near the waterfall there is a grassy area for pitching tents with toilets available. Camping requires buying a ticket, and entry costs 30-60 baht per person. The waterfall sits in the forest, easy to walk around and enjoy.

Mon Kruba Sai, Mae Mei National Park

Mon Kruba Sai, Mae Mei National Park

Tak

Mon Kruba Sai offers one of the best sea-of-fog and sunset viewpoints among campsites in Mae Mei National Park, a camping in Tak province. Tent pitch fees run about 30-100 THB per tent per night, and campers must bring their own tent and bedding. The site sits roughly 5 km from the park office, and the road is passable by sedan. There is no electricity, no shower room, and no phone or internet signal at the pitch, so campers should shower and use facilities at the park office before heading up. The toilet at the campsite itself is in poor condition. The pitch lies right beside a local road used by villagers, and cattle often wander through, leaving droppings to watch for. Those wanting sunrise views are advised to head to Mon Kiu Lom instead. From Mon Kruba Sai it's possible to hike down to the park office, about 6-7 km, as a day activity. Best suited for visitors seeking quiet and genuine rest away from crowds.
