Notes from our team

Getting there
The park is very far from town with almost nothing along the way. Stock up on supplies in the city before you drive out. Entry tickets are valid for 5 days, enough for hikes both inside and just outside the park.
Facilities
Nights get very cold, dropping to 4-11°C in late November, and some houses have windows that won't close properly. Pack warm clothes yourself, and bring leech socks for hiking or buy them at the shop for 80 baht.
Quiet & crowds
Campers here are well disciplined: after 10 pm it goes quiet, with no loud groups. Most guests are families with young children, and the grounds are never crowded.
Food & supplies
There are no shops or restaurants nearby, only a small shop and a small restaurant at the park office. No alcohol is sold here, so bring your own food and drinks from the city.

Park was neat and had a few hiking trails, of which the longest one was 5,8 km. The ticket is valid for 5 days, we did hikes inside and just outside the official park. 4 small restaurant/shops available. Communication and staff was good. We booked accomodation through Facebook and paid at the bank within 2 days. Couldn't pay while we were still abroad, so we were a bit late and for 3 nights got 2 different houses. 1 house #301 was made of wood and for 6p, bit moldy and quite cold as it was 4°C as night and the windows would not close. 2nd house #201 was made of stone for 4p, bit warmer and less moldy. See photos. Bring leech socks or buy them for 80 baht at the shop. Our experience is that there were not many guests, many slept at the campground. Everyone was quiet and no loud groups. We stayed Wednesday-Saturday in November.

Celebrate a quiet New year with my husband for 3 days, campers here are amazing. No one make noise since 10 pm and most campers are family with young children. Did a full hiking trail for 4 hours, expect to see some wild animals but unfortunately they’ve moved. I think it’s perfect moment to do hiking in winter in late December and it’s worth it. This is perfect for campers who don’t mind shower without heater at 6 degree Celsius(who would shower?) Anyway, it was an excellent vacation place for people who enjoy camping with friends and family.

My first experience staying in the middle of the forest. Didn’t know that Thailand can be so cold! We enjoyed weather as cool as 11 degrees Celsius at night (end November) so do remember to pack some warm clothes. If you are lucky you might also spot some wild elephants. Not too far off (5km) is a beautiful hill to view the sunrise .
