Atmosphere

The tent ground sits by a stream with a weir that slows the water, so a soft flowing-water sound carries through the day and all night. From inside a tent you can hear the stream the whole time, and nights here get cool enough to compare with sleeping in an air-conditioned room. Trees around the ground keep it shaded through the day.

Water & swimming

The stream running past the ground stays clear and cool all year, flowing gently rather than fast, with shallow spots where kids can play in the water — a favorite corner for families in the hot months. The camp's bathrooms are roomy, kept clean, and always have strong running water.

Best time to go

Late October is a good time to come: light drizzle, the first hint of cool-season air, and chilly nights inside the tent. The hot season works too — evenings still cool down comfortably, and a dip in the stream takes the heat right off.
