What makes it special

The campsite sits on Khao Yai Thiang in the Pak Chong area of Nakhon Ratchasima, on high ground with mountain views all around. The grounds are wide with many pitches to choose from, and photo spots are scattered throughout the site, so campers can pick their own angle for the view and their pictures.

Atmosphere

The air on the mountain runs cold most of the season, and strong wind is the site's signature, blowing day and night, so tent pegs need to go deep and firm. On clear nights the stars come out sharp, and sunrise can be watched in the morning. Bring warm layers and proper guy lines.

Best time to go

The cool season is when the weather here is at its best, roughly October to November, with comfortable temperatures all day and morning mist drifting through on some days. In the rainy season the dirt road up the hill turns rough and the conditions are less suitable for a stay, so time a trip for the cool months to get the full experience.
