Suithang campsite in Chiang Mai province sits inside Doi Pha Hom Pok National Park and is known for its cherry blossoms (Prunus cerasoides) in full bloom in late December. The pitch is about 8-10 km from Doi Ang Khang, laid out as wide terraced ground, with a viewpoint on the other side offering a sea of mist over the valley in the morning. Access is via the Ban Arunothai route, which is easier than the Fang road, on a hilly paved road through villages that sedans can drive comfortably. TRUE signal is usable while AIS works well. Staff are on-site for cleanliness and security, and there's an a-la-carte food stall plus morning drinks like deep-fried dough, tea, coffee, Milo, and herbal drinks. Car camping parking is available. Toilets are moderately to fairly clean with strong cold-water showers. There's a solar-powered charging point though power can be weak. Tents are available for rent, but no park lodging is offered here, so campers are advised to bring food from Ban Arunothai, which has convenience stores and a market.

Recently an alternative location for camping on Aungkang, will definitely try it out on my next visit. Look stunning from both sides of the hill.
