Terrible service. We phoned and confirmed a room but when we arrived the place was fully booked. They then said there was a place and then led us up a track for 4WD only, we were in a Yaris! We backed out and left the park.
Nice national park for vacation and camping in Sukhothai.
Such a peaceful place to relax and enjoy nature! The park is full of greenery, waterfalls, and some cool caves. Great for walking, hiking, or just chilling. The trails aren’t too hard, and you might even spot some wildlife along the way. It’s not far from the old ruins at Si Satchanalai Historical Park, so you can easily visit both in one trip. The air is super fresh, and it’s not crowded at all. There are bungalows and campsites too if you want to stay overnight. Best time to come? Definitely the cool season—November to February. Bring comfy shoes, snacks, and enjoy the peace and quiet. Highly recommend for nature lovers!

Best nature-scene we've been to in Thailand. When we arrived, we were greeted by Leo and Tai, the staff of the park. These were the nicest people that exist. They guided us to wherever we wanted to go (the caves), with such detailed and entertaining information. We hope to come again soon. Thanks, Leo and Tai!

Equipment rental availableKhlong Nam Lai Waterfall Campsite sits inside Khlong Lan National Park in Kamphaeng Phet province, where you can fall asleep to the sound of the waterfall all night. The campsite in Kamphaeng Phet is a shaded grassy area with a shallow stream alongside it that is safe for children to splash in. A stairway trail leads up to the upper waterfall tiers through scenic forest. Park tents are available for rent. Boxed meals, drinks, and a coffee shop selling instant noodles are available on site, with a shop selling grilled pork neck nearby down the road. Entry fees are 40 THB per person (valid for both Khlong Lan and Khlong Nam Lai areas), 30 THB per vehicle, and 30 THB per person for pitching a tent. Toilets are clean with strong water pressure, and a charging point is available at the ranger station. Lights are reduced after 20:00 to save energy. There is no mobile phone signal anywhere in the area. Park rangers are attentive and friendly.
Mae Takhrai National Park in Chiang Mai province offers a camping area well suited to families and those new to outdoor stays. The Jamjuree camping ground sits beside the Mae Kwang stream, where shallow clear water allows visitors to wade and cool off. Large trees provide natural shade across the site. Access is straightforward via the main Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai highway, with the road suitable for standard cars. Facilities include parking, toilets, showers, electricity, running water, a shop, restaurant, and coffee shop. The park also features a three-kilometer nature trail circling the reservoir, Tad Moey waterfall, and a viewpoint at the sixth kilometer, offering opportunities for photography and morning mist observation. Swimming and boat trips are available for those interested in water activities. The campsite charges 30 baht per person per night, and equipment rental is not provided.

The camping area is split into three spacious grass zones — tent slot 53 was still available on a Saturday — and the 30 THB per-person camping fee plus 40 THB park entry ticket doubles as admission to hike Khao Phra Bat Phluang (Khao Kitchakut) until midnight, so no second payment is needed. Vehicle entry costs 30 THB per car. The park welfare shop operates during government hours, but a 7-Eleven located about 2 km away delivers inside the park via app. AIS 5G signal is confirmed, charging points are available, and rangers patrol almost all night. The waterfall inside the park runs 13 tiers, with tier 8 rated the most scenic. Weekdays are noticeably quieter than weekends.
Khao Soi Dao Wildlife Sanctuary offers camping in Chanthaburi province with a natural stream directly behind the tent area — one of the few campsites where you can wade in running water steps from your pitch, for just 30 THB per night. An adult park entry fee of 40 THB (20 THB for children) also applies. Nights sit around 26°C, and tree cover keeps the camping area shaded throughout the day. Wildlife is genuinely visible from camp: peacocks, monkeys, and dozens of butterfly species are regularly spotted. A 1,800-metre trail leads to a 9-tier waterfall — the first half is easy, the second half moderately challenging. The park is open 08:00–17:30; an on-site welfare shop sells food daily from 08:00–20:00. Separate male and female toilet blocks are provided. Note that there is no electrical supply at the pitches, so bring a power bank or portable charger. The site is located in Soi Dao district, Chanthaburi.
