One of the most amazing natural attractions I've ever visited. The staff were friendly and helpful, the entrance fee was affordable, and the butterfly viewing area was spectacular. If your vehicle isn't suitable for driving through mud or shallow water, it's best to use the park's transport service. The countless colorful butterflies make this place truly unforgettable.
It’s completely controlled by the government or a private cooperative. As a foreign traveller, you’ll be charged 300 THB per person. They’ll also charge an additional 100 for seeing butterflies. Unfortunately, you can’t go on a trail from March to December because the forest is very dense. It’s not really worth it, but the road to the park is beautiful. Only butterflies u can see at 350 THB for per person as foreign travellers traveller. Thanks.
Cool place to go and watch butterflies in the rainy season. Many wild animals. Can do some nice trail hikes, recommend to use a guide as wildlife is everywhere. Must visit once at least. 4 starts only as parc fee double standard 300 thb for foreigners and 30 thb for thais like everywhere… sad
We visited Ban Krang Campsite for the walking trail. The trail is about 2–2.5 km and quite easy. However, we got lost because the tree blocks and path was not very clear. At reception, we did not receive a map or much explanation, and we later realised we had entered from the wrong side of the entrance 😁. That’s was fun. We also asked if we needed a ranger, but did not get much information about trail conditions or wildlife. That said, we enjoyed exploring on our own for abit until we found the sign post. We saw gibbons, dusky langurs, and many beautiful birds, which made the experience very special. signs show direction but not distance, so it is hard to know how far you have left. The path can also be uneven, with some fallen trees. Proper shoes are recommended, and it is important to stay on the trail as there are sign around on poisonous insects and snakes. We finished the walk around 1 p.m. and learned that the mountain hike is better early in the morning (around 6 a.m.). We skipped it this time but would like to come back and try again. There are friendly local drivers and rangers who can take you up. We drove from Bangkok to Kaeng Krachan and stayed nearby, as the park is large and not easy to get around without a car and also because we want to experience community works around NP. We also visited the waterfall (climbed up to level 5), which is about an hour’s drive and interesting hike. We rented a car (around 1,200 THB per day), which made things much easier. For first-time visitors, it is good to prepare in advance. Download offline maps, check the correct entrance, and consider whether you want a ranger. There is no mobile signal in the forest. Payment is easy, cash, card, and QR are all accepted. Overall, it was a great experience, and we would love to come again.
