Notes from our team

Atmosphere
Budo–Su-ngai Padi National Park sits within the Sankalakiri Range, the mountains that run south toward Malaysia, covering three southern border provinces: Narathiwat, Yala, and Pattani. The whole area is Indo-Malayan rainforest with high humidity and rain all year round, so anyone camping overnight should come prepared with proper wet-weather gear.
Facilities
The park offers hiking trails and birdwatching spots, with toilets available for visitors. Park staff can give travel and trail suggestions, so it is worth asking before heading out. Note that the terrain inside may not be suitable for elderly visitors or anyone with limited mobility.
Water & swimming
The park has several waterfalls well worth visiting. Even with limited time, reaching just the first tier is rewarding, but the deeper tiers are bigger and taller and need extra hiking time to reach. The waterfalls are the main destination for those staying here and exploring the park on foot.
Value for money
Entry fees are 30–60 baht per person for Thai visitors, while foreign tourists pay 100 baht per person, which is relatively high compared with other parks. Groups with international friends should budget for this in advance. For Thai visitors, the price is reasonable given the forest and waterfalls on offer.
