Notes from our team

What makes it special
Early morning is when the park is at its best, as the first light rises over the ridgeline and the sea of mist in a scene worth waking before dawn for. The trail to the viewpoint is another draw: an easy walk of roughly 4 kilometres through diverse forest up to Mon Pui Mok. Some stretches are a little overgrown, but the sweeping view at the top pays it back, and once darkness falls the open sky makes stargazing effortless.
Atmosphere
The quiet here comes from the fact that the park still sees few visitors, so nights pass without disturbance and mornings feel crisp and fresh. Thin mist often drifts across the camping ground at dawn, wrapping the mixed forest around it in an almost painterly mood. A short walk to the waterfall rewards you with the steady sound of water tumbling over rocks, a natural backdrop that deepens the calm of this stretch of wilderness.

Mae Moei National Park is a hidden gem that offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The park is not touristy, which adds to its charm and tranquility. I stayed in one of the tents provided, which was comfortable and well-maintained. The bathrooms were clean and adequate, making the camping experience more enjoyable. The park is known for its beautiful landscapes and diverse forest, which I had the pleasure of exploring. I attempted the trek up to the viewpoint, although it was a bit overgrown, the hike was easy and rewarding. The fog that often rolls in adds a mystical touch to the already stunning scenery. I also visited the waterfall, which was a sight to behold. The sound of the water cascading down was soothing and made for a peaceful atmosphere. The park is quiet, making it perfect for a good night's sleep. I woke up early to catch the sunrise, and it was a breathtaking experience. The morning air was crisp and fresh, and the view of the sun rising over the
