Located in Ban Luang Subdistrict, Chom Thong District, it sits directly on Highway 1009, the main route up Doi Inthanon, so any vehicle can reach it easily. The site's highlight is its stream-side setting, where guests can relax to the sound of flowing water and cool off with a swim. At roughly 1,220 meters above sea level, daytime temperatures run fairly warm but cool breezes blow all night, making for comfortable sleep and a refreshing, cool morning. Self-pitch camping costs 150 baht per person. The campsite offers made-to-order food and a riverside moo-kra-ta (Thai BBQ) set. Facilities include electrical outlets (bring a long extension cord), clean separate male and female toilets, and convenient parking. Visitors are advised to contact the site in advance to confirm fees and reserve a pitch before traveling.

What makes it special: Chontharawiew sits on Doi Inthanon in Chiang Mai, with a creek running right through the camping ground, so the whole area carries the sound of flowing water all day. Most campers set up along the stream and spend the evening around a barbecue fire.
Atmosphere: The sound of the running stream does a good job of masking noise from neighbouring tents, so even when several groups camp here at once, it stays quieter than expected. The closer you pitch to the water, the more the creek dominates the night.
Water & swimming: The creek flowing past the camp is the main water feature here, with clear running water year-round, great for a cool dip during the day. There is also a waterfall within easy reach of the grounds, a popular spot for a short walk and photos.

The night receptionist was very unfriendly and unhelpful. I heard she might be the owner's daughter. However she had a very unwelcoming attitude and zero service mind. Whenever I asked a question, she was unable to help. Forcing me to call another staff member who was much more helpful and informative(may be the owner).
