Atmosphere

From late December into early January the whole campsite turns pastel pink, with cherry blossoms and peach flowers blooming so densely that the colour fills the view in every direction — dense enough that some spots can even be photographed from a car rooftop. Temperatures at that time sit around 9–20°C. Tents go up beneath blooming Nang Phaya Suea Khrong trees, and mornings begin with light filtering through branches covered in pink blossoms, like waking up inside a mist of flowers.

Best time to go

The best time to come is late December through January 1st, when the Nang Phaya Suea Khrong blossoms are at their peak density for the year. Nights drop to around 9°C and days stay under 20°C. It suits a stay of more than one night — days can be spent driving the Inthanon–Khun Wang sakura route and its many stops, returning to the same pitch each evening, with a small town's night market nearby for dinner before heading back up to sleep.
