Lo Phu View Homestay, Ban Piang So

Nan
5.0(5 reviews)

Lo Phu View Homestay in Nan province offers tent platforms with roof cover set against a 360-degree mountain view near Ban Piang So. This homestay has a rustic, welcoming atmosphere high in the mountains, run by a friendly owner who also grows his own coffee. Tent camping starts at 300 baht per platform, while small house rooms cost 900 to 1000 baht and large houses cost 1400 baht. The route comes in via Sapan, passing Ban Wen and terraced rice fields; the first section is a somewhat rough concrete road with some paved sections, turning into a manageable dirt road as you approach Ban Piang So — low-clearance cars are not recommended, though vans have made it up before. The site sits about 1 kilometer from the Piang So viewpoint. In the evening, moo kata (Thai BBQ) is available starting at 350 baht per set, and breakfast includes rice porridge with drip coffee from the owner's own coffee garden. Nights get quite cold, and the owner performs live music by the campfire. This is a good campsite in Nan for travelers seeking mountain views and a countryside feel.

Notes from our team

What makes it special
The camping ground at Law Phu View sits on an open ridge with layered mountain ranges stretching across the horizon, offering a different character by day and by night. On clear cool nights the sky fills with stars, though on windy nights the mist tends to stay away, so calm evenings are the best bet for waking up to a sea of fog above the valley. Mornings come with hot rice porridge and coffee to enjoy alongside the view.
Atmosphere
Evenings here are made for gathering around a campfire in front of the tent, with a cool breeze running all night and a sky full of stars on cloudless nights. The ridge air gets genuinely cold, so warm layers are worth packing. After dark the only sounds are natural ones, far from main roads and intrusive lights, making it well suited for star photography and for sipping coffee at the viewpoint while waiting for sunrise.
