Phu Wan View Campsite

Nan
5.0(5 reviews)

Phu Wan View Campsite in Nan province sits on a hilltop above the village of Sapan, delivering a sweeping panoramic view of layered green mountain ridges that is the site's standout feature. Camping in Nan costs 200 THB per person per night. The site is reachable by car — drive 1.6 km past Wat Sapan and follow GPS. The rainy season is the prime time to visit: mornings bring thick rolling fog that drifts right past your tent, creating an above-the-clouds effect. In the evenings, guests can enjoy Korean BBQ by the cliff edge while watching the sunset. Mornings are ideal for coffee with unobstructed mountain views. On-site photo spots include a bamboo swing and a wooden archway. The campsite provides a spacious car park and clean toilets.

Notes from our team

What makes it special
The campsite sits above Ban Saphan village with mountain views in every direction — you can see the Huei Wela Time café and the village below. There are two areas to choose from: an open lawn and terraced tiers, and whoever arrives first gets to pick their spot. At night you can faintly hear a waterfall in the distance.
Getting there
It's about 2 km up from Ban Saphan village and ordinary cars can make the climb. The road up looks steep and a bit remote, but it pays off once you reach the field — the main thing to watch for is oncoming traffic. Parking is available on site, the owner's house is nearby, and the grounds are lit at night.
Best time to go
Late November into early December is a favorite time — it's cold and the morning mist covers the entire valley below. But the mist here behaves oddly on some days, arriving late and burning off fast. If you want the full sea-of-cloud experience, coming right after light rain seems to improve your odds.
Quiet & crowds
The ground enforces noise rules strictly — no loud sounds and no karaoke — so even busy nights stay genuinely quiet. Staff walk around collecting fees in the early evening. With two separate lawn areas, the space spreads out enough that it doesn't feel cramped even on a busy Saturday.

The best campsite at Ban Saphan. The views are seriously awesome. Wonderful place, quiet and peaceful. Basic Facilities are available, however there is no hot shower. We came in late November, and it was cold. Early morning the clouds will be below us covering the whole valley. 200tbh per person.
