Lung Don Pang Yang Campsite

Nan
5.0(5 reviews)

Lung Don Pang Yang Campsite in Nan province offers a hidden grassy pitch with 180-degree mountain and rice-field views. It's a simple grass campsite with no fancy facilities, suited for campers who want a close, unfiltered connection with nature. The fee is 250 THB per person, subject to change, and the owner rents out tents on request so it's best to call ahead to check availability. Electricity is available near the toilet and shower area. The access road is a mix of laterite dirt and concrete, so a high-clearance vehicle is recommended, and visitors should arrive while there is still daylight for safety. There is no phone signal on site, so downloading offline maps before the trip is advised. Campers can buy ingredients nearby and cook their own food at the site. Management asks all visitors to help keep the area clean so it stays beautiful for future travelers. This is a good pick for anyone seeking a low-frills camping in Nan province.

Notes from our team

What makes it special
The camping ground sits on a ridge with a rare view: overlapping mountain ranges on one side and the town of Nan below, similar to what you see from the Doi Phu Kha viewpoint. Morning mist drifts right up to the tents, and the air stays cool all day. Rainy days may bring some puddles, but the misty views make the climb worthwhile.
Atmosphere
The ground is a small grassy area that takes only a limited number of tents, so the site feels private and genuinely quiet — no houses nearby, just wind and cool mountain air at night. The owner is warm and hands-on, coming out to look after guests even for late-night arrivals, giving the place the feel of staying with a country relative.
