Pha Taem campsite in Ubon Ratchathani offers clear views of the Mekong River and Laos with cool breezes all day at this national park camping ground. The spacious, shaded camping area has separate male-female toilets, a welfare shop, and lighting at various points. Open daily from 5:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Thai national park entrance fees are 40 baht for adults and 20 baht for children, plus 30 baht for cars and 20 baht for motorcycles. Camping fee is 30 baht per person per night if you bring your own tent; tent and sleeping equipment rental is available if you don't have your own gear. Highlight check-in spots within the park include the ancient Pha Taem rock paintings dating back over 3,000 years, the Pha Taem viewpoint for sunrise and Mekong River views, Sao Chaliang's giant mushroom-shaped rock formations, Pha Cha Na Dai as the first sunrise viewpoint in Thailand, and the unique Saeng Chan Waterfall (Nam Tok Ru) flowing through a rock hole.

We have very bualtyful night. the sky very clear we cannot much tourist at that time. rest room very clean and close to camping area with electrictity. Even we came late staff are so kind. This camp also close to sunrise view point. it took just 10 min by ride motor bike

The park covers approximately 11,375 rai and serves as a nature study trail with rich biodiversity. Visitors can walk along marked nature trails on rocky plateaus with signage throughout the route. The park is renowned as a beautiful sunset viewing destination where camping is permitted at the waterfall site. Morning sea of mist can be observed from the Pha Luang Stone Pot viewpoint. Key attractions include Bok Nok Yuang, Bok Nok Yuang Waterfall, Long Pong Waterfall, Lod Cave, Bok Nok Yuang Pavilion Pillar, Crocodile Court, grasslands, wildflower fields, Wat Pa Pha Phueng Phu Luang temple, and the Stone Pot viewpoint. Access requires parking at the forest park office and hiking up the mountain approximately 400 meters. There are no restroom facilities or electricity at the viewpoint area. Tent rental is available on-site. The recommended arrival time is 3 PM to allow for tent setup and sunset viewing, as the evening light is particularly beautiful at this location.
Bok Lakorn Waterfall, locally known as Hong Lakorn, is located in Pha Taem National Park, Khong Chiam District, Ubon Ratchathani Province. The waterfall requires a 4-kilometer adventurous hiking trail from Wat Ban Tamuy temple, ascending through forested slopes. Facilities include natural bathing streams and open-air Balinese-style restrooms that catch the mountain breeze. Local guides and porters are available for hire. Prior coordination is required to obtain permission to enter the national park area. The site accommodates both day trips and overnight camping experiences.
Kaeng Chang Mob is a camping site along the Mekong River featuring natural rapids interspersed with rock formations. Located in Ban Huai Yang, Khemarat District, 100 kilometers from Ubon Ratchathani city center, this scenic location offers camping opportunities both on the riverbank and on an island in the middle of the Mekong River. Access to the island requires a boat crossing at 100 baht per person. The site is best visited during the dry season, particularly in February when water levels are ideal. The crystal-clear water flows through natural rock formations, while ancient trees grow on the islands. Visitors can enjoy sunset views, white-water rafting during summer, and kayaking activities. The name Chang Mob derives from local legend about an elephant that once died on the rocks, leaving skeletal remains. The area showcases nature's artistry with uniquely shaped rocks and flowing patterns created by the river current. Campers must bring all food, water, and supplies as no facilities are available on-site.
Suan Thanathip Camp - Pha Taem is located in Ubon Ratchathani province along the Mekong River, offering a natural sandy beach camping area with terraced sites directly by the water. The location supports year-round camping and provides opportunities for stargazing at night, boat excursions to view the Thai-Lao riverside landscapes, sunrise observation in the morning, and trips to river islands with sunset viewing. The site features electricity at multiple points, though high-power equipment is not permitted. Facilities include two clean toilet rooms and two shower rooms with strong water pressure, along with dishwashing stations and designated garbage disposal areas. Mobile phone reception is available for all carriers. The camping fee is 100 baht per person per night, and equipment rental is not available.
