Pran Buri Forest Park

Prachuap Khiri Khan
5.0(5 reviews)

Pran Buri Forest Park campsite in Prachuap Khiri Khan sits near the Pran Buri river mouth, just over 10 km from Hua Hin. The area is spacious with many photo spots and clean toilets, plus a daytime shop. There's no park entrance fee, only a tent fee of 30 baht per person per night. The site is semi-public, so local fishermen pass through at all hours, meaning campers should choose a suitable and safe spot for their tent. Cool season is the best time to visit, while summer gets extremely hot, making it more suitable for a day trip than an overnight camp unless you're well prepared for the heat. Seawater near the river mouth isn't very clear but is fine for wading. Nights are quiet with few visitors, though street lighting in the area is limited. The park also offers tents for rent for those without their own gear.

Notes from our team

Getting there
Come on a weekday and arrive early if you can—far fewer crowds than weekends. The trail is easy, suitable for both kids and older adults.
Value for money
Entry costs 30 baht per person, and one ticket covers all park locations that day. A boat tour through the mangroves is 500 baht per boat, about 40 minutes.
Food & supplies
Even with decent tree shade along the trail, bring your own drinking water and sunscreen—the heat can tire you out on a longer walk.

This mangrove has a really easy path. It's a loop, and you see some amazing views with many crabs and birds on the way. We loved every second of it. It was really easy and beautiful.

Nice mangrove forest and very relaxing to walk around. You'll see many small crabs in the water. The highlight was going up the observation tower, amazing views from up there.

A must-see for nature lovers and there’s no entrance fee. It’s a truly beautiful mangrove forest. During our walk we saw lots of crabs and other animals. Even though the trees provide plenty of shade, please bring water to drink and don’t forget sunscreen. We decided to do the boat tour (500 baht per boat, duration around 40min) and would highly recommend it to everyone

It’s best to arrive early on a weekday, when it’s quiet and uncrowded. Beautiful views and a relaxing atmosphere. The park entrance ticket is valid at all locations on the same day, so there’s no need to pay multiple times.

The scenery and boardwalk are great for kids and elders. Boating is fun and you can feel the local fishing culture. There’s a campsite by the sea. You can bring kids and pets on weekends. Quiet beach with few tourists. Perfect to relax all day.
