Notes from our team

Who it suits
First-time campers can feel at ease here — rental tents are already set up, toilets and a mini mart sit close to the camping ground, and the sunrise viewpoint is an easy morning walk. A nice fit for families trying their first night outdoors.
Facilities
Clean toilets are a recurring plus, along with spacious parking and a phone charging service at the visitor counter. If you stay overnight, bring your own food — all cooking must be done in front of the park office, not at the campsite.
Quiet & crowds
The spot feels remote with very little light pollution — several visitors decided to stay overnight on the spot simply because they loved the solitude and the remarkably clear night sky. If you want to escape city noise for a night under the stars, this fits well.

First ever camping experience in Thailand! Overall I’m satisfied with the location and environment. There were a few tents set up readily for rent. Staffs were friendly and helpful. Parking lots were spacious and toilets were clean. You need to pay for entrance fee and car fee. There was phone charging service at the customer service counter. Be sure to bring your own foods if you choose to camp overnight. Wind was strong at night and freezing cold.

Lovely, quiet and remote location and area for camping. Good options for camping, with some wildlife and birds to see. Use the tents or domes or take your own tent. Fabulous mornings especially, with low cloud cover and can be very cool, with great views over the valley. If you are thinking of going, just go - prepared to stay, as we visited and then decided to stay, so were charged twice for entry to the park.

Si Nan National Park in Nan Province is a hidden gem in northern Thailand. With peaceful mountains, sea of mist views, and star-filled night skies, it’s a perfect place to slow down and reconnect with nature. The most popular spot in the park is Doi Samer Dao, where visitors can camp right on a ridge with panoramic views. Whether you’re watching the sunrise through the morning mist or stargazing at night, the scenery is always stunning. The camping area is well-maintained, with clean toilets and tents for rent. It’s quiet, peaceful, and has very little light pollution—amazing for astrophotography or just lying under the stars. Another highlight is Pha Chu, a cliff that offers a dramatic viewpoint over the Nan River and the surrounding valley. Hiking trails in the park are suitable for beginners and nature lovers alike.

There is a rest area along the highway with facilities, a large lawn some use for camping and a viewing platform overlooking the Nan River Valley. Up the road you can turn into the park where there are some rooms available and a large camping area where you can set up your own tent or rent one. It is a very nice spot with great views. There are restaurants in the park as well.
