Khun Sathan National Park is a campsite in Nan province known for its year-round cold weather thanks to its high mountain elevation. Located in Na Noi district, it sits close to Doi Samoe Dao and Sri Nan National Park, making it easy to visit both in one trip. The site features a hilltop coffee shop with panoramic views and an on-site restaurant. Restrooms include water heaters, with one heated shower room each for men and women. Zone 3 is the recommended camping area, offering great views and cooking facilities. Entry fees are 20 THB for adults and 10 THB for children, with a 30 THB per person camping fee, 30 THB for cars, and 20 THB for motorcycles; young children and elderly visitors enter free. Advance booking through the reservation system is recommended to secure a spot. Bungalow accommodation is also available, bookable by phone up to 60 days ahead.

Khun Sathan National Park, located on steep mountains stretching from north to south with the ridge of Doi Prae Mueang separating boundary between Phrae and Nan provinces, covers the area of Na Noi and Na Muen districts of Nan Province. Its main mountain peaks are Doi Mae Chok with 1,424 m , Doi Ku Sathan with 1,630 m high, and the highest one - Doi Phukha with 1,728 m high above msl. while Doi Mae Chok is a favorite view point for watching the sea of mist, sunrise and sunset. Its average temperature at night is about 10-20 degrees Celsius year-round. Khun Sathan became more famous among local tourists as it houses Thailand's sakura or Wild Himalayan cherry trees and other flowers blooming beautifully during winter.
If you're here for the view and nature, this is one of my most recommended place to sleep overnight. I stayed in a hut overnight with nice bed and thick blankets for two. Waking up to sunrise and a sea of misty fog layed acrossed the land. They also have a cafe that you can have toast and coffee to warm you up.
It is very nice campground. You can see the sunrise easily. The place is clean and the shower room is good also with the hot water. There is one lovely coffee shop where you can sit and enjoy the view.
Try not to go with motorbike 🏍️ the road was extremely slippery during rain, especially on the edge of the road. Me and my partner were had an accident but it wasn’t a bad one. Guys! I couldn’t see anything when I reached the viewpoints. It was drizzling all the time and a bit cold. I suggest you to not go up the pine tree viewpoint, crazy leech will suck your blood like hell. They are extremely difficult to get rid off from your feet. Anyway I am pretty sure this place will look a lot better during winter, the pink flowers still waiting to be seen next time. The staffs are really nice and helpful.
Peaceful National Park with nice camping areas and good bathrooms. Sadly, the forest has been denuded in many places and the lights from a couple of large towns are visible in the night. The tiny restaurant only cooks rice with omelette which is tasty. We had a pleasant night watching the stars move in the heavens.

It's about an hour-plus drive from Phrae, making it an easy escape from the heat. The site offers a tent-camping zone at 150 THB per person per night, with electricity access, 1 bathroom and 3 toilets. There's also a newly opened minimalist-style accommodation zone with VIP rooms 1-4 and Sweet houses 1-2 for couples (2 guests), plus VIP houses 5-6 for groups or families (4 guests). The Sweet houses feature a jacuzzi tub, a 6-foot king-size bed, air conditioning, a water heater, a separated wet-dry bathroom, and a hair dryer. Phu Wan View Campsite in Nan province sits on a hilltop above the village of Sapan, delivering a sweeping panoramic view of layered green mountain ridges that is the site's standout feature. Camping in Nan costs 200 THB per person per night. The site is reachable by car — drive 1.6 km past Wat Sapan and follow GPS. The rainy season is the prime time to visit: mornings bring thick rolling fog that drifts right past your tent, creating an above-the-clouds effect. In the evenings, guests can enjoy Korean BBQ by the cliff edge while watching the sunset. Mornings are ideal for coffee with unobstructed mountain views. On-site photo spots include a bamboo swing and a wooden archway. The campsite provides a spacious car park and clean toilets.

Facilities include restrooms and shower rooms located within reasonable walking distance that are adequately maintained, though hot water is not available. A restaurant, welfare shop, and small coffee shop serve campers on site. Electrical outlets for charging devices can be found near the restaurant pavilion. The access road is in good condition and suitable for those with experience driving on mountain routes. Campers should be prepared for mosquitoes and small black ants that nest in scattered spots on the ground and deliver painful bites. The camping fee is 30 baht per person per night and equipment rental is available.
