Ing Camp Jae Son

Lampang
5.0(5 reviews)

Ing Camp Jae Son is a campsite in Lampang located just 300 meters from Jae Son National Park, right beside a mineral-water stream flowing down from the park. The site backs onto a mountain and faces the stream, so every zone can hear the water flowing all night, with several separate camping grounds to choose from and space for motorhomes or roof-top tents to park right by the water. The access road is a rough off-road track of about 200-300 meters; during the rainy season only 4WD vehicles can get through, while any vehicle can enter in the cool and hot seasons. Camping costs 150 baht per person per night with free power hook-up, children over 12 pay 100 baht per night, and kids under 12 with a parent stay free. Each zone is capped at 20 tents or 30 people, or you can book an entire zone exclusively for 3000 baht per night. A house and a motorhome are also available to rent, and clean restrooms are separated by gender with hot water showers in every room. Pets are welcome at this camping in Lampang, though owners must keep them supervised.

Notes from our team

Atmosphere
The tent field sits in a valley in Chae Son, with a clear stream flowing around the grounds. The grass is well kept, and the shade and sound of running water make nights here easy to sleep through. Bordering the national park, it genuinely feels like sleeping in the forest.
Getting there
The access road is fairly steep sedans can make it, but you have to crawl up gently and the entrance can be a little confusing, so it helps to have navigation ready. Parking is available on site, and from there it's a short walk down to the stream-side tent field.
Water & swimming
The stream running through the camp is safe for a splash kids enjoy it on warm days, with water clear enough to see the bottom. The national park hot springs are nearby too, so many guests soak in the morning before heading home.
Best time to go
Late-year cool season is comfortable one guest staying on December 30 measured a morning temperature of 14°C at 395 m above sea level. The chill suits sitting by the stream, and in hot season the stream still runs cool enough for a dip.

Kew Fin Campsite, Chae Son National Park

Lampang

Kew Fin campsite in Chae Son National Park sits on a ridge in Lampang province, known for its sea-of-fog sunrise viewpoint just 200-300 meters uphill from the tents. The camping area sits at about 1,517 meters elevation, keeping the air cool year-round, with a flat but modest-sized pitch and a quiet atmosphere. Clean toilets and dishwashing points are available at several spots nearby, and park staff maintain the area well, but there are no shops on site so campers must bring their own food, water, and gear. The drive from Lampang city takes roughly 2-3 hours, with the final stretch steep and winding, so a vehicle capable of climbing hills and careful driving are recommended. After watching the sunrise, campers can drive about 2-4 kilometers to Ban Mae Kampong village for food, though the narrow, curvy road there requires slow, cautious driving. Advance permission from park officials is required before setting up camp, and national park entrance fees plus a separate camping fee apply. Some sites near the campground sit beside a small waterfall stream, and a larger waterfall is about 1 kilometer away.
