Notes from our team

What makes it special
The ridge is at its best at dusk — arrive in time for sunset, when the last light pours through the valley and the pineapple fields below, washing the sky and ridgeline in gold and orange. The view opens straight from the viewpoint, best paired with a coffee or orange juice from the on-site café, a building that was once a schoolhouse. As darkness settles, the air turns cool, made for sitting out with distant town lights below and stars overhead.
Atmosphere
The tent pitch sits on a mountain ridge with an open panorama in every direction, framed by overlapping hills and pineapple fields scattered along the slopes. Midday sun can be strong, but a steady breeze blows through the whole afternoon, making the open ground comfortable. On a weekday noon the place is almost empty, quiet enough that wind and leaves are the only sounds. As the afternoon light slants golden across the yard, the air cools gradually toward evening.

Suan Hun Na

Chiang Mai

Suan Hun Na is a campsite in Chiang Mai province where live music plays every Saturday, set along the Mae Khot River in Phrao district, about one hour from Chiang Mai city. The road in is flat with no mountain climbing required, making it accessible to all vehicle types — public songthaew and minivans on the Phrao–Chiang Mai route stop right in front. The Mae Khot River surrounds the site and is home to natural fish populations, so guests can fish directly from camp. Weekday admission is 150 THB per person with no reservation needed (walk-in welcome), while Saturday music nights cost 200 THB per person and require advance booking due to limited capacity. Facilities include a shop selling food and drinks, equipment rental, electricity, hot water showers, and a dedicated car-camping parking area. Note on phone signal: True and dtac have no coverage at the campsite — only AIS works — so users of those networks should bring cash for payment, as mobile transfers may not go through.
