Notes from our team

What makes it special
The summit viewpoint is the highest spot on Phu Thap Boek, offering a full 360-degree panorama. Looking down, cabbage fields step across the hillsides on both sides — a signature scene of this area where forest and highland farming blend together. It serves as the main check-in point for anyone visiting Phu Thap Boek.
Atmosphere
The camping ground and viewpoint sit open on a high ridge with cool air year-round, and temperatures drop noticeably in the evening and at night — well suited to watching the view and stargazing after dark. Around the summit, coffee shops and stalls selling souvenirs and food line the walkways, giving the place a hilltop-market feel rather than a remote, isolated camp.
Best time to go
The best time to visit is late rainy season into early winter, when mist and genuinely cold air are at their peak. Temperatures sit around 20-22°C in the rainy season and can drop to 17°C in the cold months. From mid-February onward the mist disappears, leaving only the high-angle views, so avoid that period if mist is the goal.

Our Xmas road trip. Highest viewing point that offer a 360 view. Finally made it here on our 2nd staycation. Obviously this is ‘the check in’ point when you are here. Tents for rent. Its a pity we didn’t get to see the phenomenal view, perhaps not the right season. Arrived here with 17°.
