Camping site at Khao Yai Thiang that's currently popular. Great weather, strong winds, beautiful views, sleeping on cliff edge. Very cold at night with dense fog in the morning. Convenient travel access. Check-in 11:00-20:00, check-out 11:00. Group tent tarps are free but separate tarps cost 200 baht/night. Pets allowed but must be closely supervised. No reservations for specific spots - first come first served. Prepare for cold weather.

Lan Yu Thuan Ban Pa Lo

It's a Lahu (Muser) hill tribe village and a viewpoint for the beautiful Doi Luang Chiang Dao mountain, with clear views of both Doi Luang Chiang Dao and the city. The route from the main road is about 15 kilometers through Ban Mae Mae, then another 8 kilometers. The road is quite difficult, requiring 4x4 vehicles only and serious mountain driving skills. Recommended to park at Ban Mae Mae temple and arrange pickup service (fee applies). No tent rental available - must bring your own equipment.

Doi Mon Mak or Doi Muen Mak. A beautiful 360-degree panoramic viewpoint located in Mae Chaem District, Chiang Mai. Originally, this area was farmland belonging to the Lawa (Lua) hill tribe, where they grew rice and areca (betel) palms. The land was later exchanged using tens of thousands of bunches of areca nuts, which is how the place came to be called “Mon Muen Mak” (Hill of Ten Thousand Areca Nuts).
